MMA bill gets by Tourism Committee

Despite his best efforts, misdirection and Fred Wortham-level hysterics, state assemblyman Bob Reilly left the Assembly's Committee on Tourism, Arts, Parks and Sports Development on Wednesday a defeated man. The board voted 2-1 to pass a bill regulating MMA on to the Assembly floor.

"I'm disappointed," Reilly said. "I disagree very strongly with my colleagues. … I predict we'll see some dire consequences." Reilly went on to voice his concern over "this Elvis person" and Dungeons & Dragons before being escorted out of the building.

Have a consolation prize, Bob: Madison Square Garden is about to undergo some major renovations, which could complicate UFC's long-deserved debut there.
