Top-seeded Jackrabbits force 21 turnovers

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Maria Boever had 21 points and South Dakota State (No. 14 ESPN/USA Today, No. 17 AP) routed Oral Roberts 77-49 Saturday in the first round of the Summit League tournament.

The Jackrabbits (29-2), who play the winner of Sunday's IUPUI-IPFW game in the semifinals, are trying to become the first No. 1 seed to win the conference tournament since 1998.

Oral Roberts (13-17) held conference player of the year Jennifer Warkenthien to eight points, but Jill Young scored 16 and South Dakota State turned 21 turnovers into 36 points.

The Jackrabbits, who shot 50 percent to take a 44-18 lead into the break, held the Golden Eagles to just 31 percent shooting in the first half and 41 percent overall.

Janae Voelker led Oral Roberts with 12 points.
