New Hampshire 63, Maine 54

DURHAM, N.H. -- Dane DiLiegro scored 21 points and New Hampshire went on a 18-0 run late in the second half to beat Maine 63-54 Thursday night.

Trailing 48-38 with 8:51 to go in the game after a 9-0 Maine run, the Wildcats (11-14, 6-7 America East) ripped off the next 18 points that put them ahead 56-48 with 1:46 to play. Alvin Abreu and DiLiegro sparked the run. Abreu had seven points and DiLiegro gave UNH the lead, 49-48, with 5:59 to play with with a layup, and then slammed in a dunk. He capped the spurt with another layup.

Maine (9-17, 4-9) never got closer than five again as New Hampshire hit free throws in the final minute.

Abreu finished with 13 points and Tyrece Gibbs added 11 for New Hampshire. DiLiegro also had 12 rebounds.

Gerald McLemore had 15 for Maine.
