RISE Girls' Basketball Player of the Week

Destiny Williams, a senior from Benton Harbor (Mich.) High School, has been selected as this week's ESPN RISE National Girls Basketball Player of the Week.

Williams now owns her school's career rebounds record after passing the 1,000 mark in last Thursday's 75-57 win against Kalamazoo Loy Norrix. Williams grabbed 23 in that game, pushing her total to 1,013. The No. 8 player in the class of 2009 by ESPNU Hoopgurlz, Williams averages 31.2 points per game and has 1,613 career points. Entering this week, she was 32 shy of breaking the current school record.

East Region Region Girls' Basketball Player of the Week

Elsie Ndema (Addams, Bronx, N.Y.)
One of the top players in the Bronx, Ndema is averaging 24 points per game. She had 31 points, 11 rebounds and five steals last week in a 63-49 win against Stevenson. She also had 31 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in a 89-62 win vs. Leadership Academy.

Southeast Region Girls' Basketball Player of the Week

Ashley Jones (Lake Howell, Winter Park, Fla.)
Top-notch guard had 22 points and five assists in both of her outings last week as Lake Howell improved to 20-2 on the season with easy wins over Seminole and Winter Springs. Jones is averaging 21 points per game.

Midwest Region Girls' Basketball Player of the Week

Destiny Williams (Benton Harbor, Mich.)
Also named the ESPN RISE National Player of the Week.

Southwest Region Girls' Basketball Player of the Week

Richa Jackson (Midwest City, Okla.)
The 6-foot junior was named MVP last weekend at the Jenks Invitational. She led her team to victories against in-state opponents Stillwater, Sapulpa and Jenks as the Bombers remained the only unbeaten Class 6A team in the state. Jackson had 17 points and 10 rebounds in Midwest City's 51-35 title game win against Jenks.

West Region Girls' Basketball Player of the Week

Erin Feeney (Jackson, Mill Creek, Wash.)
With 9.9 seconds left in a game against state-ranked Edmonds-Woodway, Feeney came up with a steal and was fouled. She then made two free throws to give Jackson a 69-65 victory. Feeney ended the game with 29 points. She also scored 29 in her other game last week and her team improved to 11-2. Both losses came when she was out of the lineup.
