UNC-Greensboro 89, Elon 72

ELON, N.C. -- Mikko Koivisto scored 22 points to lead five North Carolina-Greensboro players in double figures in an 89-72 win over Elon on Saturday night.

The Spartans (3-12, 2-4 Southern Conference) have won two out of three games for the first time this season.

UNC Greensboro took a 39-34 lead into halftime. The Phoenix (4-10, 1-5), who also had five players score in double figures, pulled ahead for the first time at 47-46 on Josh Bonney's jumper with 14:37 left.

The Spartans regained the lead 12 seconds later and never trailed again.

With the game tied at 54, UNC Greensboro pulled away with a 20-4 run.

Damian Eargle scored 18 points for the Spartans. Ben Stywall had 15 points, Daniel Oliver 12 and DeAngelo Jackson 10.

Ola Atoyebi led Elon with 17 points, followed by Chris Long with 12, Brett James and T.J. Douglas with 11 apiece and Josh Bonney with 10.
