After breaking down film of the Colts and Jaguars, Scouts Inc. runs down what to pay attention to during Thursday night's game including, the Jags' underachieving receivers, Colts' red-zone offense and Jags' ability to funnel the Colts' receivers inside.
• Why can't Jacksonville get it right at wide receiver? The Jaguars have spent a ton of money, draft choices and time trying to acquire a receiver, but they are still only have a mediocre pass offense. Jerry Porter is an arrogant free agent bust on injured reserve, Reggie Williams is a big underachiever without explosiveness, Matt Jones has off the field problems (although he has shown signs of improvement on the field) and Troy Williamson, who does have speed, is a non-factor. Journeyman Dennis Northcutt may be their most reliable receiver. What is amazing is that this group is big, physical and should be a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses, but they still have very little explosiveness or big plays.
