SAN MARCOS, Texas -- John Rybak scored 17 points to help lead Texas State to a 104-81 victory over Huston-Tillotson on Wednesday night.
Rybak was one of six Bobcats in double figures. Brent Benson and Brandon Bush scored 16 points each for Texas State (2-1), while Ty Gough scored 12 points and had 14 rebounds. E. Bidias A'Moute scored 11 and Cameron Johnson had 10.
Gabe Haskins of Huston-Tillotson (1-3) led all scorers with 23 points, including 12-of-13 from the free-throw line.
James Black scored 18 and Robert Hartfield had 16 for Huston-Tillotson.
After Huston-Tillotson hit two quick free throws, Rybak hit the first of his five 3-pointers on the night to give Texas State the lead for good.
