Soccer-Castillo in Mexico squad for Honduras World Cup qualifier

MEXICO CITY, Nov 14 - Forward Nery Castillo has
been included in Mexico's squad for next week's World Cup
qualifier away to Honduras despite a lack of match practice with
his Premier League club Manchester City.

Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson also recalled midfielder Pavel
Pardo, Mexico's most experienced player with 143 caps, for the
game in San Pedro Sula on Wednesday.

Mexico need a point to make sure of reaching the final stage
of the CONCACAF zone qualifying tournament.

Eriksson's team lead Group B in the semi-final stage of the
tournament with 10 points from five games, one ahead of Honduras
and three more than Jamaica.

They could be eliminated if they lose to Honduras and
Jamaica beat Canada, although at least one of the results would
have to be by a large score.

"It's a life or death match because it's not possible to
think of Mexico out of the World Cup," Eriksson told reporters.

Mexico have taken only one point from their last two
qualifiers, with Pardo absent from both games.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Giovani dos Santos will miss the
match with an ankle injury.
