Cricket-Warnapura extends Sri Lanka lead

MIAMI, March 25 - Sri Lanka opener Malinda
Warnapura continued his good form with the bat as the tourists
pushed their lead over West Indies towards 300 on the fourth day
of the first test in Georgetown, Guyana on Tuesday.

Warnapura, who scored a maiden test century in the first
innings, was 44 not out with Kumar Sangakkara unbeaten on 14 as
Sri Lanka reached 83 for one in their second innings at lunch, a
lead of 279 with five sessions remaining.

The one casualty of the session for Sri Lanka was Michael
Vandort, who was well-caught down the leg-side for 24 by
wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin off the bowling of Chris Gayle.

Earlier, West Indies, who started the day on 269 for nine,
managed to avoid the follow on before Thilan Thushara had
last-man Darren Powell caught at slip with the score on 280.

Thushara finished with three for 59. Chaminda Vaas claimed
three for 48 and Muttiah Muralitharan finished with three for
112.
