TCU hangs on to beat San Diego State, 68-62

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Henry Salter scored 18 points,
including two free throws in the final seconds, as TCU held off San
Diego State 68-62 Saturday to break a four-game losing streak.

Salter's jumper and layup keyed a 10-2 run that broke a 25-25
halftime lead and gave TCU (12-10, 4-5 Mountain West) the lead for
good.

But San Diego State (16-7, 6-3) pulled to within 62-60 on Kelvin
Davis' 3-pointer with 40 seconds left. After TCU hit two free
throws, Davis scored on a layup to cut the deficit to 64-62. Then
Salter made two free throws and Jason Ebie added two more with 3
seconds left.

Kevin Langford scored 15 points and Ryan Wall had 11 for TCU,
which shot 54 percent from the field in the second half to 44
percent for the Aztecs.

Ryan Amoroso scored 20 to lead the Aztecs, and Davis added 15.
Their leading scorer this season, Lorrenzo Wade, was held to 8
points on 2-of-13 shooting from the field.

San Diego State was without starting forward Kyle Spain, who was
suspended indefinitely Friday for an unspecified violation of team
policy.
