Lundqvist picks up another win

In recovery from Super Bowl hangovers across North America (figurative and/or literal), it should be noted that the Giants weren't the only victorious team out of New York on Sunday.

Although the magnitude of the game doesn't equal, down 3-0 at one point, the Rangers earned a hard-fought, come-from-behind victory in Montreal. Scott Gomez, Martin Straka and Chris Drury contributed a goal and an assist each. Jaromir Jagr was held off the score sheet, but finished the game with a plus-two rating. Brendan Shanahan didn't dress, as he's dealing with a nagging hamstring injury. He's listed as day-to-day and shouldn't be out of action for too long.

Despite the loss, the Canadiens' power play continues to impress. Alexei Kovalev and Andrei Markov both scored with the man advantage. Sergei Kostitsyn netted the third goal on a penalty shot in the second period. He has six points in his past six games. This 20-year-old is getting opportunities on the power play and skates with Christopher Higgins and Saku Koivu at even strength. He could be a huge asset in deeper leagues down the stretch. Pick him up if he's available. Meanwhile, Andrei Kostitsyn was held off the score sheet for the second game in a row. Mark Streit's three-game point streak came to an end, but with eight points in his past six matchups, the defenseman is one of the hottest in the league.

In net, Henrik Lundqvist stopped 25 of 28 shots for his fourth win in five starts. On the flip side, after a stellar performance against the Islanders one day earlier, Cristobal Huet fell apart in the latter half of the game. He allowed five goals on 19 shots in the second and third periods.
