MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Les Simmons scored a career-high 19 points
as Morehead State beat Kentucky Christian 88-66 Saturday night.
Simmons hit 8-of-10 shots from the field and grabbed five
rebounds for the Eagles (11-10), who are 9-0 at home this season.
Kentucky Christian (17-9) took its only lead on the first bucket
of the game.
Morehead State led 49-30 at the half and never saw its advantage
dip below 16 in the second half.
Kenneth Faried finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds for
Morehead State while Maze Stallworth and John Lamb each chipped in
with 11.
Akeem Scott topped Kentucky Christian with 23. Demarius Gulley
had 15 and Matt Hackenberg scored 12.
The Knights stayed as close as they did by hitting 13 of 36
3-point attemps.
For the game, Morehead State hit 33 of 62 (53.2 percent) while
Kentucky Christian was 24 of 61 (39.3 percent) from the field.
