Whisonant leads Wildcats to Pac-10 win

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Ashley Whisonant scored 12 of her 17 points
in the second half as Arizona beat Oregon State 71-63 Saturday,
giving the Wildcats their first back-to-back Pac-10 victories in
three years.

Whisonant, who didn't play the last 11 minutes of the first half
after hitting the court hard on a drive, continually made driving
shots to keep Oregon State at bay.

The guard had a pair of driving lay-ins and then a 3-pointer to
give Arizona a 66-59 lead with 6:47 remaining.

The Wildcats (9-13, 3-8) also knocked off Oregon on Thursday
night. Rheya Neabors and Amina Njonkou each finished with 16 points
for Arizona while Ify Ibekwe added 14.

Ashley Allen led Oregon State (10-12, 3-8) with 17 points.
Talisa Rhea added 15 and Cedes Fox-Griffin had 10.

Allen's jumper with 7:17 remaining closed the gap to 63-59 but
the Beavers were held to just four points the rest of the game and
only one field goal, that coming with one second to play.
