PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) -- William Byrd and Marcelle Goins each had 17 points to lead Arkansas-Pine Bluff to a 74-68 win over Alcorn State on Monday.
Byrd added 13 rebounds and six blocks for the Golden Lions (7-9, 3-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference).
Troy Jackson scored 21 points to lead Alcorn State (3-16, 2-4). Jarvis Williams had 15, and Jamal Thompson came off the bench to chip in 13 points.
Larry Williams added 13 points for the Golden Lions, who shot just 48 percent from the free throw line, making 12 of 25.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff led 40-23 at the half. The Golden Lions next face Prairie View A&M, while Alcorn State hosts Alabama State on Saturday.
