Marist holds Niagara to 27 percent shooting in 84-65 win

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- With five double-digit scorers led by
Spongy Benjamin and Dejuan Goodwin with 14 points apiece, Marist
beat Niagara 84-65 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play
Monday night.

Benjamin also had a game-high 10 rebounds for the Red Foxes, who
held the Purple Eagles to 27 percent shooting. Jay Gavin added 12
points, David Devezin had 11 points, five assists and four
rebounds, and Ryan Stilphen finished with 10 points and eight
rebounds.

Tyrone Lewis scored a game-high 26 points for Niagara (11-6, 5-3
MAAC). Charron Fisher, who entered the game as the nation's
second-leading scorer, was held to 17 points on 4-for-21 shooting.
It was the first time this season that Fisher scored below 20
points in a game. Anthony Nelson added 12 points.

Marist (12-7, 6-2) shot 50 percent from the field, hit seven 3s
and had a season-high 50 rebounds.
