Louisiana-Monroe defeats Fla. International 68-66

MIAMI -- Jonas Brown sunk a driving layup with 1.2 seconds
remaining in regulation, snapping a 66-66 tie and sending
Louisiana-Monroe to a 68-66 victory Saturday night.

It was the first league win for the Warhawks (7-12, 1-6 Sun Belt
Conference) who snapped a six-game losing streak. The loss was the
third straight one for Florida International (5-12, 2-5).

Alex Galindo led all scorers with 34 points and had 13 rebounds.
Tony Hooper topped the Warhawks with 20 points, 16 of those coming
in the first half as Louisiana-Monroe took a 35-28 lead into the
break. Brown scored 14 points.

Louisiana-Monroe led by as many as 14 points at 53-39 with 10:49
to play.

But Florida International's Galindo scored 29 second-half
points, including four 3-pointers and 9-of-11 from the foul line.
