Wagner defeats Brown 64-63 in a hotly contested game

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Mark Porter's free throw with 7 seconds
left in regulation pushed the visiting Wagner past Brown
University, 64-63 on Wednesday night.

Porter led the Seahawks (4-2) to their third consecutive win
with 23 points and four assists, while teammate Durell Vinson
collected a season best 18 rebounds.

Brown (2-3) received a solid effort from center Chris Skrelja
who finished with a season-high 21 points. He was perfect from the
field on the night, connecting on all seven of his field goal
attempts and sinking six of ten from the free throw line. Vinson
bolstered the Seahawks with 12 points.

The Bears' Mark McAndrew scored 14 points and Mark MacDonald had
12 points in the loss.

Wagner took a one point lead at 35-34 on Doug Elwell's lay up
with three seconds left before the break.

The Bears hit 44.2 percent for the game while Wagner found the
range on 40.7 percent of its field goal attempts in the narrow win.

The two teams exchanged the lead 18 times. The Bears whittled
down the Seahawks five point advantage late in the second half,
eventually retaking the lead at 63-62 on a pair of McAndrew free
throws with 26 seconds left.
