Soccer-SAFFC clinch sixth Singaporean title

SINGAPORE, Nov 22 - S-League champions Singapore
Armed Forces FC retained their title on Wednesday with a 2-1
victory over gutsy Gombak United.

Three teams had been in contention going into the final
match of the season but SAFFC's victory meant Home United had
to settle for second place and Tampines Rovers third.

As confetti rained down from the stands, SAFFC's coach
Richard Bok said: "It was teamwork, the same as last year, the
fighting spirit that helped us win this championship.

"This year it was definitely harder, as we were the
defending champions trying to win it again. The players worked
very hard, and there was a lot of sacrifice and support from
the players, the club, the fans. All of that also helped us win
the championship again."
