Son of Eagles coach waives hearing on drug charges

NORRISTOWN, Pa. -- The oldest son of Philadelphia Eagles
coach Andy Reid is headed to trial on charges he smuggled 89 pills
into the Montgomery County prison just days before he was sentenced on
unrelated charges.

Garrett Reid, 24, waived his preliminary hearing
on Friday on charges including drug possession and bringing
contraband into a prison. The charges carry a mandatory two-year sentence.

Garrett Reid was sentenced to up to 23 months in jail for
smashing into another motorist's car while high on heroin earlier
this month.

The drugs were found in his cell when he was picked up
for violating conditions of his bail.
