Rombach, Knapp pass Duquesne past St. Francis Pa.

LORETTO, Pa. -- Kevin Rombach threw two touchdown passes and
Scott Knapp added a third as Duquesne beat St. Francis, Pa. 24-17
on Saturday.

St. Francis (0-5) opened the scoring with a six-play, 35-yard
scoring drive capped by George Little's 1-yard sneak with 2:13 left
in the first quarter. Antoine Rivera set up the drive with a
17-yard punt return.

Duquesne (4-2) scored its first points on a 25-yard field goal
by Mark Troyan with 6:05 left in the first half. The field goal
capped a seven-play, 48-yard drive.

The Dukes put together a 10-play, 58-yard drive to open the
second half, but were stopped on downs at the St. Francis 25.
Duquesne's next possession needed only one play, as Rombach
connected with Sean Bunovich on a 63-yard touchdown pass. The score
came with 8:31 left in the third quarter.

Two possessions later, Rombach connected with Bruce Hocker on an
18-yard touchdown pass. The score capped a four-play, 40-yard drive
and gave Duquesne a 17-7 lead.

St. Francis cut the deficit to seven points with a 28-yard field
goal by Adam Sciulli with 8:15 left in the game. The score came
after an interception and return of 27 yards by the Red Flash's
Matthew Parker.

Duquesne scored its final touchdown on its next possession, as
Knapp connected with Conrad Carter on a 49-yard touchdown pass with
6:37 left on the clock. Rombach completed 12 of 25 passes for 230
yards. Knapp was 5 of 10 for 74 yards,

St. Francis drove 60 yards on eight plays on its final
possession and scored on 2-yard pass from Little to Omar Winston
with 3:34 left. Duquesne ran out the clock on its final possession.

Little was 19 of 32 for 141 yards.
