Wofford scores 38 in 2nd half to beat Gardner-Webb 52-17

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Six different Wofford players scored
touchdowns as the Terriers beat Gardner-Webb 52-17 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (2-4) tied the game at 14 on their first possession
of the second half, but Wofford (6-1) scored 38 points in the
second half as its relentless wishbone attack wore Gardner-Webb
out.

Kevious Johnson scored a touchdown running and receiving for the
Terries, leading the team with 77 yards rushing on 14 attempts.
Thirteen different Terriers carried the ball as they ran for 293
yards.

Josh Collier was 10-of-12 for 143 yards and a touchdown for
Wofford, while receiver Andy Strickland caught six passes for 98
yards. Layton Baker also recovered a blocked punt in the end zone
for a Terrier score.

Gardner-Webb running back David Montgomery led the team in both
rushing and receiving, running for 80 yards on 13 carries and
catching eight passes for 45 yards.

Stan Doolittle went 19-of-25 for 120 yards, a touchdown and an
interception, while Devin Campbell was 7-of-14 for 83 yards, a
touchdown and two interceptions for the Bulldogs, who have lost
five in a row to Wofford.
