Silber ends 0-for-19 skid with win in Santa Anita feature

ARCADIA, Calif. -- Silber ended an 0-for-19 skid Thursday,
beating Aunt Pink by a head in the $47,800 feature race for
California-bred fillies and mares at Santa Anita's Oak Tree
meeting.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Silber ran a mile on the turf course
in 1:35.70 and paid $8.40, $4.40 and $3. Nakatani picked up the
mount at the last minute when scheduled rider Martin Pedroza left
because of personal issues.

Aunt Pink returned $6.60 and $4.20, while Sunday Dress paid
$2.80 to show.

The victory, worth $28,200, increased Silber's career earnings
to $190,220, with three wins in 45 starts, including six seconds
and eight third-place finishes.
