ATHENS, Greece -- In an Oct. 6 story about the possibility
of Greek sprinter Katerina Thanou being awarded the 100-meter gold
medal from the 2000 Sydney Olympics if Marion Jones is stripped of
her gold, The Associated Press erroneously identified lawyer
Michalis Dimitrakopoulos as representing Thanou. Dimitrakopoulos,
who made a statement to the AP saying Thanou deserved to be awarded
the gold, later clarified that he no longer represents Thanou.
