Soccer-Roundup-CAF extends marketing and TV deal until 2016

LONDON, Oct 4 - Soccer news in brief from around
the world:

* The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has extended
by a further seven years its marketing and television deal with
French-based Sportfive, African football's governing body said
in a statement.

An agreement handing the rights to the African Nations Cup
finals, the African Champions League, the African Confederation
Cup and the African Youth Championship until 2016 was signed in
Paris on Wednesday, CAF said.

Terms of the deal were not released but, according to
industry analysts, it would have cost about $100 million.

* Rwanda have dismissed German coach Michael Nees after
winning only two of their African Nations Cup qualifiers.

The Rwanda Football Federation said it had decided not to
renew Nees's one-year contract.

* About 20 Dutch fans were detained following drunken
disturbances in the centre of Florence ahead of Thursday's UEFA
Cup match between Fiorentina and Groningen, Italian media said.
