Siwula scores three TDs to lead Cornell past Georgetown 45-7

WASHINGTON -- Luke Siwula scored three touchdowns and had 95
rushing yards and Nathan Ford passed for 201 yards and a touchdown
as Cornell defeated Georgetown 45-7 on Saturday.

Coming off a 51-12 loss to Yale, the Big Red (2-1) rebounded
behind a rushing attack that tallied 247 yards on the ground
against the Hoyas. Stephen Liuzza scored on a 14-yard run and
finished with 72 rushing yards, and Randy Barbour added 69 yards
and a 9-yard touchdown run.

Siwula, who scored three touchdowns in Cornell's season opener
against Bucknell, opened the scoring in the first quarter with a
one-yard run on fourth and goal. His second touchdown, a 12-yard
run with six seconds left in the first half put the Big Red up 21-0
at halftime.

The Big Red, who have two straight over the Hoyas, marched down
the field on the opening drive of the second half, and Siwula's
11-yard run up the middle increased the lead to 28-0.

Nick Zerante scored Cornell's second touchdown, catching an
11-yard fade pass into the left corner from Ford, who finished
24-for-33.

The Hoyas (0-5), who lost 55-0 to Holy Cross in their previous
game, avoided their second consecutive shutout when Quarterback
Matt Bassuener scored on a five-yard touchdown in the third
quarter. Bassuener finished 12-for-33 for 173 yards.
