Bison 28, Dukes 19

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Marcello Trigg threw two touchdown passes and Corin Erby scored twice as Bucknell topped Duquesne 28-19 on Saturday night.

Trigg was 8-for-14 for 156 yards and threw touchdown passes of 45 yards to A.J. Kizekal and 26 yards to Josh Lee in the first half as the Bison (1-0) took a 21-19 lead at the break. Erby scored his second touchdown of the game on a 1-yard run in the third quarter to cap the scoring.

Scott Knapp was 14-for-29 for 273 yards and threw long touchdown passes of 72 yards to Michael Rasky and 52 yards to Bruce Hocker for Duquesne (0-1). Rasky finished with three catches for 105 yards and Hocker caught four passes for 104 yards.

The Dukes drove deep into Bucknell territory twice in the early going but had to settle for field goals of 33 and 39 yards by Mark Troyan.

Hocker's TD catch gave Duquesne a 19-14 lead with 8:56 left in the first half. But Bucknell pinned the Dukes deep in their own territory on their next possession to set up Erby's first touchdown of the game, a 4-yard run that capped a seven-play, 42-yard drive.

The Dukes had a hard time getting Bucknell's offense off the field in the second half, losing the time of possession battle 19:20 to 10:40 after halftime.
