Preseason injuries strike again (Henry)

Those who have already drafted Travis Henry caught a break, as the knee sprain the running back suffered over the weekend appears to be a minor one. Those who haven't drafted Henry don't need to drop him into Carnell Williams territory. Not yet.

But Henry's sprained medial collateral ligament, suffered in a meaningless preseason game, continues to underscore the point that many more bad things than good happen to NFL players -- thus fantasy football owners -- in August. The fact that Henry likely won't suit up again until Week 1 of the season is actually a good thing. Unlike seemingly half the Giants team Sunday night, Henry escaped relatively unscathed!

So, with the information we have currently, I'm not going to adjust my ranking of Henry, which stands at No. 12 among running backs, though this could certainly change as new information comes in. I actually like the fact I'll likely be able to draft him a bit later now, maybe mid-round two, because fantasy owners will be more worried than they should be. Same with the Jets' Thomas Jones, who doesn't need to suit up until September. Don't bother looking at his lack of preseason stats to break a tie with his ol' pal Cedric Benson as your late-second rounder. The missing stats don't matter.
