BOULDER, Colo. -- Patrick Williams caught two touchdown
passes from redshirt freshman quarterback Cody Hawkins, and the
Colorado offense scored TDs on five of its 14 drives in a scrimmage
Sunday.
In other scoring, freshman receiver Kendrick Celestine ran an
end-around for a 5-yard touchdown, freshman Josh Smith caught a
54-yard touchdown pass from junior Nick Nelson, and sophomore
fullback Jake Behrens scored on a 4-yard pass from freshman Matt
Ballenger.
Nelson conducted six drives, and Hawkins and Ballenger each led
four drives. Offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich said Nelson and
Hawkins, son of coach Dan Hawkins, have been about even with each
other.
