Colin's Best Bets
GameColin's Reasoning
Notre Dame at PurduePurdue returns 20 starters. This will probably be a night game for Purdue at home, and for sure it'll be the biggest game on the schedule for the Boilermakers. Notre Dame has emotional game the week prior vs. Michigan State. Purdue wins.
Texas A&M at NebraskaNebraska plays Texas the following week and plays Oklahoma State the week before Texas A&M. The Aggies have a senior-dominated offense and premiere offensive line of the Aggies. Texas A&M owns the time of possession vs. Cornhuskers young defensive the front. Texas A&M absolutely covers, probably wins.
USC at Arizona State The Trojans play at Cal the week before heading to the desert and they host the rival UCLA the week after playing at Arizona State. Plus, Arizona State has two weeks to prepare for the Trojans with a new hot shot head coach in Dennis Erickson -- who knows that if he wins this game it could be extremely beneficial to the future of Sun Devil recruiting. Sun Devils at least cover.
Florida at KentuckyThe Gators play at LSU the week before and at Georgia the week after. Kentucky is the classic sandwich road game for the Gators. Kentucky has a senior QB, three top wide receivers vs. a young Gator defense on the road (one returning starter). Kentucky beats Florida.
LSU at AlabamaThis is the fourth tough road game in a row for LSU after Florida, at Kentucky and Auburn. Nick Saban has a chance to beat his former team. This is a very emotional game. Plus, Alabama gets a bye week prior to its match with the Tigers. Alabama wins.
Michigan at WisconsinWolverines have huge rivals before and after Wisconsin (Michigan the week before, Ohio State the week after). The Badgers have an All-America punter and an All-America kicker, and field position will be vital in this game since the temperature will be low. Michigan will be looking ahead to Ohio State, and Wisconsin wins.
