Inman to have role in Razorbacks broadcasts

LITTLE ROCK -- TV broadcaster Scott Inman, passed over by
the University of Arkansas as its new "voice of the Razorbacks,"
will host pre- and post-game shows on the Arkansas Razorback Sports
Network during the upcoming season.

Inman is a news announcer for KATV in Little Rock. The station,
which operates the sports network for the university, had wanted
Inman to handle play-by-play duties. Arkansas athletic director
Frank Broyles instead selected Chuck Barrett, a northwest Arkansas
announcer who has been the Razorbacks' baseball broadcaster for 15
years.

Barrett previously hosted the pre-game show and produced the
broadcasts.

The university and ARSN announced Friday that Inman would handle
the 90-minute pregame show and the post-game show. Former Arkansas
sports information director Rick Schaeffer will be on those shows
and also work part of the halftime show, according to the school
and network.

Barrett is replacing Paul Eells, the longtime play-by-play
announcer killed last summer in a traffic accident. Mike Nail
filled in for Eells on an interim basis during the last season.
