LHP Woods optioned, RHP Davis outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma

SEATTLE -- Mariners left-hander Jake Woods was optioned to
Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Woods gave up one hit -- a homer to Magglio Ordonez -- in two
innings on Sunday against Detroit. He was 0-0 with a 5.91 ERA in
four appearances, and has spent most of the year at Tacoma.

Last year, Woods was a spot starter in the Seattle rotation,
making eight starts. He was 7-4 with a 4.20 ERA and competed for
the No. 5 spot in the rotation during spring training.

Seattle also outrighted right-handed reliever Jason Davis to
Tacoma.

Davis was 2-0 with a 6.31 ERA in 16 relief appearances since
being acquired from Cleveland on May 13. The Mariners sent him to
Tacoma because they wanted to keep three lefties in the bullpen.
