ATHENS, July 14 - Soccer news in brief from around
the world:
* Greek Super League champions Olympiakos Piraeus have
completed the signing of Spanish international defender Raul
Bravo from Real Madrid.
The club said the 26-year-old had signed a four-year
contract in a deal reported by the Greek media to have involved
a transfer fee of between 1.5 and 2.3 million euros.
The defender has played 14 times for the Spanish national
team. He had been with Real Madrid since 1997 but struggled to
break into the first team, leading him to spend a spell on loan
at English side Leeds United in 2003.
* Valencia's Portugal midfielder Hugo Viana, 24, will spend
next season on loan with Osasuna, the Primera Liga clubs have
said.
Osasuna have an option to buy the former Sporting Lisbon and
Newcastle United player for four million euros next year.
* Former Villarreal captain and centre-back Quique Alvarez
has agreed a two-year deal with Recreativo Huelva, the Primera
Liga club said on their Web site (www.recreativohuelva.com).
