Blue Jackets' Cam Atkinson added to All-Star Game

The Columbus Blue Jackets are taking over NHL All-Star Weekend. Winger Cam Atkinson is the latest entry after the NHL announced Thursday that he is replacing injured Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin.

Atkinson joins Blue Jackets teammates Seth Jones and Sergei Bobrovsky, as well as head coach John Tortorella on the Metropolitan Division squad.

Malkin pulled out Wednesday with a lower-body injury.

Atkinson has 24 goals among his 46 points in 47 games, in what has been a standout season for him.

The 3-on-3 All-Star Game tournament is on Sunday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, preceded Saturday by the skills competition.
