Zack Smith's 4-year extension worth average of $3.25 million per season

OTTAWA -- The Ottawa Senators have signed veteran forward Zack Smith to a four-year extension, keeping him from unrestricted free agency on July 1.

The team announced the deal was worth an average of $3.25 million per season. The deal also includes a limited no-trade clause, according to a source.

Smith has 11 goals and 11 assists in 43 games this season, a year after putting up a career-high 25 goals last season, when the Senators gave him a larger offensive role in the lineup.
