OTTAWA, Ontario -- Senators forward Mark Stone has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be evaluated on a daily basis, coach Guy Boucher said Saturday. Stone left a team scrimmage early on Friday.
The 24-year-old Stone had 23 goals and 38 assists in 75 games for the Senators last season.
Ottawa opens the regular season at home against Toronto on Oct. 12.
