Goalies facing the toughest workloads in 2016-17

One of the ongoing conversations in the hockey analytics world has been about the effect that team quality can have on a goaltender's numbers.

It has been hard to pin down whether giving up an above-average number of shots makes life that much tougher on a netminder and it can be even tougher to determine how systems alter numbers and how we should grade the difficulty level of each save.

However, we can look at circumstances and say some goalies have life easier than others.

In 2016-17, there are a few backstops that will likely be facing a huge workload with a high number of shots per game and a defense that is subpar. Seven such goalies stand out:
