Luke Glendening signs 4-year, $7.2M extension with Red Wings

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings have signed center Luke Glendening to a four-year extension worth $7.2 million.

The team announced the deal Thursday. Glendening had a year left on his contract.

Glendening has missed only one game with the Red Wings the past two seasons while averaging just less than 20 points.

A former Michigan star, Glendening had eight goals and a career-high 21 points last season. He had a career-high 12 goals and 18 points during the 2014-15 season. Glendening played in 56 games when he made his NHL debut during the 2013-14 season, scoring once and adding six assists.
