MONTREAL -- The Montreal Canadiens and restricted free-agent Alex Galchenyuk have agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth what a source told ESPN's Pierre LeBrun is an average of $2.8 million per year.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed Thursday.
Galchenyuk had career highs with 20 goals, 26 assists and 46 points last season. A 21-year-old Wisconsin native, he has 42 goals and 62 assists in 193 regular-season games and four goals and six assists in 22 playoff games.
