Dez Bryant inactive for third straight game, looks to return Oct. 30

NFL, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant will miss his third straight game with a tibial plateau fracture in his right leg, but he is looking at a return for the next game Oct. 30 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bryant went through three limited portions of practice last week in his first action since suffering the injury Sept. 25 against the Chicago Bears. Last Wednesday he said it was important to get the practice time even if he did not play against the Packers because it would improve his timing.

The Cowboys have their bye next week and will have abbreviated practices with the players off Thursday through Sunday.

Bryant looked much more comfortable in his pregame routine, running routes and catching passes. He was not wearing a wrap on his right knee and he was running without any hitch.

Brice Butler will start in Bryant's place for the third straight game.

Left tackle Tyron Smith is active and will start after a back injury kept him out of Thursday's practice. He went through a limited portion of Friday's practice and said he would be able to play.
