The NFL in Michael and Martellus Bennett's words

NFL, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks

Michael and Martellus Bennett are two of the NFL's sterling quote-providers, known for being thoughtful, direct and most of all honest. ESPN the Magazine spent time with the brothers in Los Angeles, before Martellus prepares for his first season in New England and Michael resumes his job within Seattle's Legion of Boom.

From that piece, here is an abridged list of the best takes on their fellows NFLers:

On Sam Bradford:

(Both smirk.)

Michael: "The greatest quarterback in the NFL."

Martellus: "Vicious. Competitive."

Michael: "A real Joe Montana."

On Eli Manning:

Martellus: "He's cool. He's like a normal white guy you see at the park trying to teach his kids how to play soccer and you know he can't really play soccer himself."

On players' rights and Peyton Manning:

Michael: "In the NBA, LeBron James, Chris Paul ... they're at the forefront. There's no Peyton Manning standing up for the rest of the players. He's a great player, but what has he done for the league?"

On J.J. Watt:

Michael: "Dominant player. ... People love J.J. Watt, but they don't really like J.J. Watt, know what I'm saying?"

Martellus: "Corny. Half of the NFL is corny, though."

On Jay Cutler:

Michael: "Worst quarterback in the NFL."

Martellus: "I'd be open and he'd throw into double coverage,"

On Roger Goodell:

Michael: "A--hole. Nah, I'm just joking -- you can't say that. Overpaid."
