Jaguars have foundation for long-term success

After a blowout win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14, and with games against Atlanta, New Orleans and the finale in Houston, Jacksonville is right in the thick of the playoff hunt. That's right, the Jaguars could be going to the playoffs.

However, the AFC South is an abomination of a division and whichever team does emerge from this mess is unlikely to survive past one playoff game. But instead of thinking about the next month for Jacksonville, let's discuss the future. And the future here is extremely bright.

As we know, the NFL is a quarterback-driven league, and it looks like we might be seeing the first steps of a changing of the guard in this league. Teams led by young, promising quarterbacks like Tampa Bay, Oakland, Tennessee and yes, Jacksonville, could be perennial winners over the next 10 years. This might sound absurd when considering the level of awfulness these four teams have performed at over the recent past, but it may be on the horizon.
