Baylor's Alexis Jones to have MRI after exiting with apparent knee injury

Women's College Basketball, Baylor Lady Bears

Alexis Jones, the leading scorer for No. 4 Baylor, left during the first half of Monday night's 70-67 win over No. 6 Texas with an apparent knee injury.

Jones, a redshirt senior, went into the game leading the Lady Bears in scoring with 14.4 points per game. She was 0-for-4 in nine minutes of play before her exit.

Baylor coach Kim Mulkey said after the game that Jones will get an MRI on her knee Tuesday.

Jones transferred to Baylor from Duke and, after sitting out a season, was named to the All-Big 12 first team and selected as the conference's newcomer of the year last season, when she averaged 15 points a game.

Jones, a 5-foot-9 guard, has previously had surgery on both knees.
