DALLAS -- Marie Ferdinand scored 34 points as Louisiana State beat Southern Methodist 83-62 on Tuesday night. Ferdinand was 15-for-19 from the field, and Roneeka Hodges and April Brown both added 14 points for the Tigers (3-3; No. 14 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 Associated Press). Kenni Patton led SMU (2-2) with 18 points, and Alisa Wright added 16. LSU shot 62.1 percent from the field, while SMU shot just 38.7 percent.
