BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Kisha James and Marie Ferdinand scored 24 points apiece to lead ninth-ranked LSU to a 92-52 rout of Sam Houston State. James connected on 10-of-13 shots from the field, including 2-of-4 from behind the arc, and drained both her free-throw attempts for the Lady Tigers (2-1), who led throughout. Ferdinand was almost as hot as James, hitting 9-of-15 attempts. She made 6-of-7 foul shots and dished seven assists for LSU (1-0), which shot 55 percent (38-of-69) from the field. Roneeka Hodges provided a spaark off the bench with 12 points and 12 rebounds and April Brown had 10 and four steals for LSU, which led 45-22 at halftime. Stacy Allen paced Sam Houston (0-1) with 14 points but connected on just 5-of-17 from the floor. The Ladykats shot a dismal 29 percent (18-of-63) and committed 19 turnovers. The Tigers held a 45-43 rebounding edge.
