ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- A foul night for Louisiana Tech reflected the mood of coach Leon Barmore, and it all worked to the advantage of the Michigan Wolverines. Raina Goodlow scored 17 points and Anne Thorius added 14 and 10 rebounds to help Michigan beat No. 8 Louisiana Tech 69-66 Friday night. It was the first victory over a Top-10 team in the history of the Michigan program. "The name of the game tonight for us was composure," said Michigan coach Sue Guevara. "We maintained our composure and that was key because we never believed we were out of the game." Barmore, who runs one of the top programs in the nation, didn't do a very good job of keeping his cool, however. He was given a technical foul with 15 seconds and tied at 66-66. "I really apologize to my team and my university," he said. "Maybe we fouled, who knows. But I should have never got a technical." After the technical, Thorius converted one of two free throws, and Goodlow made both of her foul shots. The Wolverines (1-0) took advantage of fouls, scoring 28 points on 35 shots from the line and fouling out Lady Techsters starting forward Takeisha Lewis. Michigan sent Louisiana Tech (2-1) to the line for 23 shots, resulting in 14 points. "I told our team at halftime that we had only three first-half free throws because we were not aggressive," Guevara said. "In the second half, we made a concerted effort to attack the basket and it paid off with a lot of trips to the free throw line." Alayne Ingram scored 14 points for the Wolverines, and LeeAnn Bies added 10. Ayana Walker led Tech with 18 points. Essence Perry added 11, and Kenya Bibbs had nine points with 10 rebounds. | ALSO SEE Womens College Basketball Scoreboard
