PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) -- Trish Juhline could barely hear herself think over the racket from the 6,362 Rutgers fans as she stood at the foul line with 17.2 seconds left in overtime.

But the noise hardly affected her aim as the Villanova freshman made two free throws to give the Wildcats a 66-65 upset of Rutgers (No. 11 ESPN/USA Today, No. 9 AP) on Saturday night.

Villanova (9-5, 2-1 Big East) went the final five minutes of regulation and all of the five-minute overtime without scoring a basket, but scored 19 points from the foul line during that span to shock the Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers (11-3, 4-1) had a chance to win the game in the final seconds, but Tasha Pointer twice had driving shots bounce off the rim.

"It was so loud I couldn't hear at the end," Villanova coach Harry Perretta said. "But Trish has played under this kind of pressure all her life. She's accustomed to the noise."

"I just tried to concentrate," Juhline said. "I just wanted to make them, and I'm glad I did."

Villanova was 24-for-30 from the foul line, including 17-for-22 in the second half and the overtime period. The Villanova victory ended Rutgers' eight-game winning streak. It was also Rutgers' first loss on its home floor in 10 games dating back to last season.

"I don't want to make excuses, like we were looking ahead to UConn," said Rutgers coach C. Vivian Stringer.

Rutgers plays at No. 1 Connecticut on Monday afternoon.

"It was more important for us to win this game tonight than whether we win or lose at UConn. I just hope we play with pride against UConn on Monday," she said.

Jenea Skeeters led Villanova with 24 points. Juhline had 14 and Brandi Barnes 11.

Shawnetta Stewart led the Scarlet Knights with 23 and Pointer had 16.

Stewart's 3-pointer with seven seconds left in regulation tied it. Stewart and Pointer opened the overtime with baskets to put Rutgers ahead 64-60.

Katie Davis hit four foul shots as Villanova closed to 65-64 with 1:56 left.

Villanova got the ball with 17.2 seconds left and Juhline was fouled on the inbounds pass, making both shots.

Pointer missed a driving shot with six seconds to play and also missed from inside the lane with one second left.
