MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin linebacker Jack Cichy is out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle, school officials announced Monday.
Cichy is the team's leading tackler (60) and ranks second in tackles for loss (seven). He recorded 15 tackles against Ohio State two weeks ago and was named the Big Ten's defensive player of the week.
He sustained the injury on the last drive of the second quarter Saturday against Iowa and returned to play in the second half.
The news is a blow to No. 11 Wisconsin (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten), which plays host to No. 7 Nebraska (7-0, 4-0) at 7 p.m. ET Saturday.
The Badgers lost starting inside linebacker Chris Orr to a season-ending ACL injury on the first drive of the year against LSU. Nose tackle Olive Sagapolu also is listed as out for the Nebraska game.
