Fournette's ankle injury adds to disappointing season (1:26)

Brett McMurphy explains the long term ramifications of Leonard Fourentte's ankle injury. (1:26)

LSU running back Leonard Fournette is "very doubtful" for Saturday's game against Missouri, a source told ESPN.

Fournette injured his ankle in the fourth quarter of last week's loss at Auburn. He had originally injured the ankle in August, which required a walking boot.

Fournette, considered one of the top contenders for the Heisman Trophy entering the season, has been limited to 386 yards rushing in four games with only two touchdowns.

LSU is playing in its first game after the firing of coach Les Miles.
