Pick-six: Our experts answer 2016's most pressing CFB questions

The season officially kicks off in just three days, and we're less than two weeks from a historic Week 1. But there are still plenty of unanswered questions, so we brought our expert crew back together to debate ongoing QB battles, the preseason AP Top 25 poll and more.

What is the most intriguing ongoing position battle?

Edward Aschoff: Alabama QB
Alabama's quarterback battle has to be at the top of everyone's list. The Crimson Tide are the defending champs and after the past two years, we've learned Lane Kiffin can work magic with anyone under center. Right now, Nick Saban is picking among Cooper Bateman, Blake Barnett and true freshman Jalen Hurts, who has received a lot of praise of late. Bateman is the early favorite, but Barnett has had a solid fall camp, as well.

Heather Dinich: Texas QB
The biggest reason the Longhorns have struggled has been the staff's inability to recruit and cultivate a winning quarterback since Colt McCoy. The entire offseason has centered around the competition between Jerrod Heard, Tyrone Swoopes and superstar freshman Shane Buechele. Coach Charlie Strong has hinted he knows who his starter will be against Notre Dame, but Texas needs to find a consistent winner who will last the entire season. If it does, the program should finally start to trend upward again.
