Florida has not played since opening the season with an 85-70 victory over rival Florida State on November 17. Teddy Dupay scored 27 points and Udonis Haslem added 16 and eight rebounds for the Gators.

The Gators have won nine straight home openers and 15 of the last 16. The only loss during that span was a 76-74 setback to Texas on November 27, 1990.

Florida lost forward Mike Miller to the NBA, but the Gators do not lack for talent after going 10 deep off the bench last season. The offensive focus of the team will shift more toward the backcourt where guards Brett Nelson and Dupay will need to step up.

Dupay underwent shoulder sugery during the offseason.

Florida Atlantic (1-3) avoided its fourth straight loss on Saturday with an 86-81 victory at Florida International. Jeff Cowans scored 21 points and Rahiem Brown added 17 and 11 rebounds as the Owls shot 67 percent in the second half.

An Owls victory tonight will match their entire total of last season, when they lost 28 games under second-year coach Sidney Green.

The teams have never faced each other.
